Preston’s Biography

Preston T. Wright is a conservative political figure residing in northeast Indiana with his wife, Ries. Mr. Wright was raised in a family of small business owners who engrained the importance of working hard and giving back to the communities that support them. With the entrepreneurial spirit, Preston started a consulting business during his college years, known today as the Wright Strategy Group, which provides clients with a variety of quality digital, branding, and communication services. He continues to operate the Wright Strategy Group as a small, part-time business. In December 2020, Mr. Wright graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, Preston worked in the United States House of Representatives for over two years. Today, Preston works in the Government Relations Department at the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in northeast Indiana. He currently serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for Summit City Theatre Works and serves as the Secretary of the Wells County Republican Party. In his free time, Preston enjoys volunteering for charities and organizations in northeast Indiana.

Mr. Wright spent many years singing and performing across Indiana and the United States. Preston continues to emcee/host the Grand Wayne Convention Center's annual "Night of Lights" open house event since 2016. He has also been a public announcer for athletic events, radio announcer for athletic events, and voice over artist for promotional and theatrical events.

Mr. Wright is no stranger to politics and public service. Since the 2016 elections, Preston has been a leading young, conservative voice in politics working with candidates and organizations at the local, state, and federal level to better the lives of those in northeast Indiana. In addition to serving on the executive leadership committee of the Wells County Republican Party, Preston was elected in 2020 to serve as the Republican Precinct Committeeman for the Wells County Lancaster West Precinct.

Before graduating from Indiana University, Mr. Wright studied accounting and business management at Manchester University for two years before transferring to Purdue University Fort Wayne for a year. While at Manchester, he was very active in a variety of campus organizations. Throughout his tenure at MU, Mr. Wright was a member, treasurer, and president of MU's A Cappella Choir; the Video Director for the MU Sports Information Department; the Executive Producer of MU's Spartan Show; a Producer for MU's Spartan Stream; a member of the MU College of Business Club Programming Committee; and a member of the MU Conduct Review Board.
