Preston’s Biography

Preston T. Wright is a conservative political leader based in northeast Indiana, where he lives with his wife, Ries. He currently serves as Chairman of the Wells County Republican Party, making him the youngest Republican Chairman in Indiana’s Third Congressional District and one of the youngest in the state. Preston previously served as Secretary of the Wells County Republican Party from 2020 to 2025 and has been a Republican Precinct Committeeman since 2020. Since the 2016 elections, he has established himself as a strong conservative voice, working closely with candidates and organizations at the local, state, and federal levels to advance the values of northeast Indiana.

Preston earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University in December 2020 and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration (MBA). He began his professional career working for more than two years in the U.S. House of Representatives. He now serves on the Government Relations team at a not-for-profit healthcare system. He also operates the Wright Strategy Group, a consulting firm he founded during college that provides digital, branding, communication, and political services. Additionally, Preston serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Summit City Theatre Works.

A lifelong vocalist and performer, Preston has been singing since childhood and has received multiple awards for his vocals at show choir competitions and National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competitions. He has also performed the National Anthem at NCAA sporting events, political gatherings, and community ceremonies. In addition, he has served on his church’s worship team and starred as the lead in multiple theatrical productions.

Raised in a family of small business owners, Preston learned the value of hard work and community service early in life. Dedicated to giving back, he has volunteered for numerous charitable causes across northeast Indiana. Since 2016, he has emceed the “Night of Lights” open house at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. He has contributed his talents as a public announcer for athletic events and a voice-over artist for promotional and theatrical projects.

Preston is a proud member of several prominent organizations, including the National Rifle Association (NRA), Indiana Sheriffs’ Association, Heritage Foundation, Judicial Watch, and the Republican National Committee (RNC).

Before completing his degree at Indiana University, Preston studied accounting and business management at Manchester University and Purdue University Fort Wayne. At Manchester, he held several leadership roles, including President and Treasurer of the A Cappella Choir, Executive Producer of The Spartan Show, and Video Director for the Sports Information Department, as well as serving on the Conduct Review Board and Business Club Programming Committee.
