Preston’s Biography

Preston T. Wright is a conservative political figure based in northeast Indiana, where he lives with his wife, Ries. Raised in a family of small business owners, Preston learned the value of hard work and community involvement early on. Embracing an entrepreneurial spirit, he launched the Wright Strategy Group during his college years, offering digital, branding, communication, and political services. He continues to operate the business part-time while focusing on his political and professional endeavors.

In December 2020, Preston earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University. After graduating, he spent more than two years working in the U.S. House of Representatives. He now serves on the Government Relations team at a not-for-profit healthcare system in northeast Indiana. Additionally, he serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Summit City Theatre Works.

Preston is the Chairman of the Wells County Republican Party, having previously served as Secretary. Since the 2016 elections, he has established himself as a strong conservative voice, working closely with candidates and organizations at the local, state, and federal levels to support and advance the interests of northeast Indiana. He has also been a Republican Precinct Committeeman since 2020.

Dedicated to public service, Preston has volunteered for numerous charitable causes throughout northeast Indiana. Since 2016, he has emceed the “Night of Lights” open house event at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. His talents also extend to public announcing for athletic events and voice-over work for promotional and theatrical events.

Preston is a proud member of several prominent organizations, including the National Rifle Association (NRA), Indiana Sheriffs’ Association, Heritage Foundation, Judicial Watch, and the Republican National Committee (RNC).

Before completing his degree at Indiana University, Preston studied accounting and business management at Manchester University and Purdue University Fort Wayne. At Manchester, he held several leadership roles, including President and Treasurer of the A Cappella Choir, Executive Producer of Spartan Show, and Video Director for the Sports Information Department. His involvement in campus life extended to the Conduct Review Board and Business Club Programming Committee.
